Weekend on the Ground

Between attending 2 weddings and 2 kiddie birthday parties (one that was even my son's), this weekend has been totally hectic. Needless to say, I had absolutely no time for flying. A real shame since the weather in FL this weekend was absolutely CAVU (Ceiling and Visibility Unlimited).

So now the kids are off to bed and time to get serious about planning next weekend's adventure. It is sure to make up for this weekend!

Assuming that the weather cooperates, my plan is to land in 7 states next week. It started out as a 3 or 4 state weekend jaunt. Then I found out that I needed to be in NY for work the following week, so I adjusted the plan.

The route now looks like this:

Day 1 (Friday evening) I will fly to Raleigh and visit some relatives that I haven't seen in a while.

Day 2 (Saturday) On to Boston... Along the way, will likely stop in NJ and RI Whatever leisurely food/fuel stops I stumble across. In fact, I have been checking out Mike B' Blog and Gary's Flight Journal for tips.  The reason for Boston is partly the location and also a good excuse to visit some family friends.

Day 3 (Sunday) With the weekend nearly over, I was going to do some flightseeing in Boston in the morning than off to NY in the afternoon. Of course, I wont be able to resist a couple of states along the way.

Then back to work in NY on Monday. Whenever works permits, it will be time to fly home mostly direct ... But with one little detour to Frederick, MD. (Once I get there, if all goes according to plan, this will be 32 states and everything east of the Mississippi.) The only magic question is what day that will be.
